How to fix the http to https redirect using Cloudflare. I figured out how to configure DNS so https, http, www subdomain, and root domain are all working. Here's how!
Thanks for writing this, Rey. I have a domain that might work well for this now that I know how it works. Does having your own domain impact the ability for people to find your posts, i.e. does being on a Substack subdomain help more than pointing to your own domain?
Hi Chris! Thanks for reading. Good question - Your posts on your own domain can still be shared in all the way posts on a subdomain can be shared: by restacking, through recommendations, on Notes and social media, etc. So I do not think it impacts the ability for people to find posts negatively.
One of the main benefits of being on your own domain is it improves discoverability in Google search results. So if you create any content that's optimized for search, if you use your own domain it will do better in search results. Good luck!
